Fascism Rising?

Naomi Wolf is too easily dismissed as a lefty crank. However, don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater re the video above.

Above is a 45 minute lecture recorded as the University of Washington discussing how quickly political environments can change from freedom to fascism if basic, subtle political changes are allowed to shift power from the people to a centralized authority. Of course, such powers are never granted outright available to dictators. But once consolidated, dictators seem know.

Give Wolf 10 minutes of your valuable time to see if the rest of her discussion is worthwhile. She discusses her new book, The End of America, which lists out 10-steps that makes government fertile for dictatorship, and notes that many of these steps have already taken place in the U.S. Her historic perspective serves as an excellent reminder for young and old.

Again, I’m no lefty.. Nor do I fully agree with Ms. Wolf, but her cautions ought to not be ignored by anyone — conservative of liberal. Waking up to this when it is too late is… well… too late!
