Taxpayers — You’re Not out of the Development Business Yet!!

If you thought Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and PA taxpayers would no longer be financing “if you build it, they will come” regional development programs that promise to save the region, while sending money to support politically connected developers… Well, you are wrong.
Nordstrom’s is back in the news with regular meddler, privately owned Millcraft. Millcraft says they think Nordstrom is just the type of retailer that will lure shoppers downtown.
Points out the Trib Review, “Millcraft’s Piatt acknowledges that bringing a Nordstrom to Downtown would require public money, but he says it would be worth it.”
If past excursions were any lesson, it’ll be worth it for Millcraft, and that’s about it. But the past is never a lesson for the fools running this region, or the idiots who keep electing the same old garbage.
