Pay Raise Repeal Update

At 6:40 PM on Monday, November 07, 2005, the House voted 155 yeas, 43 nays to NOT concur with the Senate Legislation to repeal the pay raise which has a severability clause that excludes the Judicial Branch from repeal. The House would like to have a non-severability clause that repeals the pay raise for all three branches of the government.
They have asked the legislation be sent to Conference Committee.
Conference Committee is a committee appointed by both the Senate and the House to negotiate different versions of a bill passed in the House and Senate. It is composed usually of the ranking Members of the committees of the House and Senate that originally considered the legislation.
