Can’t See the Forest from the Trees

Did you ever notice that the only way Pittsburgh can manage to lure in business is by fancy tax breaks like the TIF? Gee… Let’s see.. Maybe these politicians would take a clue from this fact. Lower taxes will bring the businesses back.
Instead, they offer breaks to new businesses they can lure in at the expense of existing, long time tax paying businesses. This provides a competitive advantage to those who are lured in… at the expense of those already there.
And these fools wonder why businesses pack up and the tax base shrinks.
