Certainly the slot parlors going up will generate lots of interest. But don’t be surprised to learn that the slot operators will be paying a 50% tax compared to the usual 20% to 30% paid in the industry. That will negatively impact how much development these operations will be able to engage in order to invest into other areas of the economy. Of course, politicians are always much more effective at spending the cash… so long as all you measure is spending and not results.
